LEAD PASTOR

In 5th grade, when other kids were dreaming about becoming an astronaut, firefighter or teacher, I thought, one day I want to start a church and I'll have a sign that says: "for imperfect people only." That sign sits at the front door of Renew Church OC and comforts everyone who walks in as well as myself.

CHILDREN’S PASTOR

I love Jesus, kids and good food! My hope is for children to truly experience being known and loved by Jesus and our ministry team and have fun together! I have been working in children's ministry for 15+ years, I completed my Master's in Spiritual formation from Talbot and I also work as a pediatric occupational therapist working with kids with special needs.

FAMILIES PASTOR

I am the family ministry pastor at Renew Church OC, and I have been in ministry for 30+ years. I am blessed by my beautiful wife and daughter and love preaching the Word of God. I also love people, pro sports, pop culture, movies and good food. My passion is to make Jesus Christ known in the local community and the world.

YOUNG ADULT PASTOR

Young adults— besides their passion & energy, I sense God’s tremendous love and calling on their lives. My Master’s degree from Fuller Seminary and certificate in Spiritual Direction do not qualify me to be their Pastor. I think they give me the honor of calling me “Pastor Chrissie” because they sense my desire to see them grow into all that God has in store for them.

YOUTH PASTOR

I was first invited to church in junior high. It was the significance of a pastor who cared and friends that invited me out that late, all in God’s care, that I find myself in high school having the clarity of my faith in Jesus. Ten year later, I finished my M.Div in Evangelism and Discipleship from Talbot Seminary, became a high school tennis coach, adopted the unofficial title of coffee connoisseur, and have had the privilege to serve as Renew’s Youth Pastor.

ADULT MINISTRIES

Lucky me, my family and I have been a part of Renew from the very beginning! I’ve also served on staff with Cru since 2005 and I’ve loved how that has afforded me a front row seat to see God change lives. I’m excited to serve Renew in the way we partner with ministries and non-profits around us to seek the well being of our neighbors, communities and city together. I also love chocolate chip bagels, cold brew coffee, reading, and k-dramas.

God is constantly working through the next generation--we need to meet God there. I can’t believe that there is already a ‘next generation’ after me, but I'd like to think I'm still a part of it. I joined Renew in 2022 and have been involved with students ever since. After completing my M.A. at Biola University, I am excited to join the staff team as College Pastor. I love people, I love culture, and I'll probably ask you where you're from. Let's throw in soccer, Thailand, and topics about ethnic identity for a good convo.

COLLEGE PASTOR

I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and I live in Brea with my wife Katie and golden doodle Winnie. I have been a worship leader for over 12 years and I am passionate about helping people worship Jesus with their whole being. In addition to leading worship I enjoy writing music for film and television, listening to podcasts, and going to the gym.
