EPIC STAFF

Aloha and welcome to my page! I hope you find encouragement as you read this and more than anything see and hear of the Lord's goodness and faithfulness! I currently live in Southern California with my two goldendoodles, Remy and Charley, love all things sports, Disney, and my greatest joy in life is being a foster mama.
I joined staff in 2009 with Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), and have served with Epic, ministering and empowering Asian American students and faculty on a variety of levels both locally and nationally. As a staff member with Epic/Cru, I have the privilege of WINning others to Christ as I give students the opportunity to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus. I have the opportunity to BUILD, as I shepherd staff and students in their walk with the Lord. Two of the ways this happens is through discipleship and/or evangelism. I also have the joy and privilege of SENDing, as students, and myself, attend conferences and participate in summer missions or vision trips. I love being a part of bringing the Gospel to the world!

DESTINO
-
Hello!
My name is Gabriela (Gaby) Cossio, I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2013 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. I grew up in a Christian home but realized in high school that I had more of a relationship with the church than with God. My involvement with Cru and Destino as a student allowed me to grow in my faith and equipped me to share the gospel with students.
After I graduated, I interned for 2 years in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and now there is a ministry led by some of the students I met during those years. When I returned, I joined the South Los Angeles Destino Team and have been with them since 2016.

Reach Global
-
In 1993, we joined ReachGlobal as full-time missionaries serving in the Latin America and the Caribbean Division. Our family served one year in Mexico City and 10 years in Venezuela and then relocated to Fullerton where we led a bilingual church plant.
Rebecca’s strength and joy is in developing discipling relationships with women. Her ministry with ReachGlobal is serving with the EquipLAC team as the Women’s Ministry Catalyst for Latin America and the Caribbean through a ministry team called Women without Borders – a team made up primarily of women from Evangelical Free Church in Venezuela and Peru. Her desire is to reach women for Christ and to train women to serve in their local churches and denominations in countries like Cuba, Honduras, Peru, and Colombia.
Omar’s main ministry focus is organizational leadership, strategic planning, development of new leaders, discipleship, and theological education. He is currently serving as the International Leader for the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Division of ReachGlobal giving oversight to all staff and ministries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Hello! Welcome to my page!
In June 2021, I graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Human Development, minoring in Education and Spanish. Right before I graduated, God called me to intern for Cru at UC Davis for two years. It brings me so much joy thinking of what God has done at Davis and how much I have grown.
Now that my intern years are over, I'd like to share that I'm joining staff with Cru in North Orange County! Once I am done raising support I can start doing ministry on campus with students from Fullerton, Whittier, and Biola! Although I will miss Davis I'm excited about this new adventure!
Thank you for your support!

Standing Stone

After retirement, with over 37 years of full-time pastoral experience, we joined Standing Stone Ministry which provides guidance, encouragement and support for ministry leaders (e.g. pastor, non-profit leader, parachurch leader, missionary and ministry spouse).
We walk alongside these leaders as mentors and friends offering a listening ear and a caring heart. When we served in pastoral ministry, we experienced times of loneliness, frustration, feelings of inadequacy, and often wanted to quit. But by God’s grace and love we were able to complete our pastoring and retire gracefully with a desire to still serve the Lord Jesus by shepherding shepherds. We believe that every ministry leader would benefit from people like us who provide support so they can stay healthy and strong in their life and work.
Healthy ministry leaders guide healthy ministries, and healthy ministries help spread the good news of the gospel to their neighborhoods, communities, and cities.
Curtis was born in San Diego and Carol was born in Los Angeles. We served in churches in Orange County and Thousand Oaks. Mental illness has been a part of our story (e.g. Curtis with OCD and depression; Carol with bipolar) and we have been able to help others with mental health issues. We have three adult children.

Coming into my future alma mater, Towson University in 2005 as a foster kid, I had bad views of what God and what a healthy family should look like. I didn’t truly know Jesus Christ until someone from Cru shared the Gospel with me, and showed me who God truly is and how he wanted me to be a part of his family. As I reflected on my time in college and how I grew in a deeper love and understanding of God through Cru, I really wanted to help students grow in their relationships with God who came after me at my school, in a similar fashion.
This ultimately led me to start working for Cru in 2009 after I graduated from college in Maryland! Over the years, I have worked in Baltimore, at Cru's world headquarters, in Orlando, in Northern and now Southern California! In 2022, I started working with Cru’s Latino ministry, Destino and I currently work in South LA County / North Orange County area

Gabe Frances
Epic
-
Hello!
My name is Gabe and I am one of the Team Leaders for the SoCal Epic team. I have been on staff with Epic for 14 years and have been team leading for 9 of those years. My team and I are currently present on 2 campuses, Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly Pomona. But, our whole scope is all of the SoCal Area. Our mission is to "Invite, Integrate, and Send Asian Americans to reach the world for Christ." The desire is to see Asian Americans proclaiming and demonstrating the Good News of Jesus, bringing his hope and honor to the world. I hope that that one day, all the campuses in SoCal are filled with students who love Jesus, embrace all of who God has made them to be, and seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus to wherever they go and whatever they do.
Throughout my years in college and on staff, I have seen students come to college seeking for a safe place to belong and to discover who they are. College is often a time where people solidify their identify and what will define their worth. There is a huge need for students to hear and experience the gospel and find the unconditional, full acceptance and belonging they can have in God. I believe that God has chosen Epic as one of the ways that He will lead these students to either come into a relationship with Jesus or to deepen their relationship with Jesus."
