In 5th grade, when other kids were dreaming about becoming an astronaut, firefighter or teacher, I thought, one day I want to start a church and I'll have a sign that says: "for imperfect people only." That sign sits at the front door of Renew Church OC and comforts everyone who walks in as well as myself.

I love Jesus, kids and good food! My hope is for children to truly experience being known and loved by Jesus and our ministry team and have fun together! I have been working in children's ministry for 15+ years, I completed my Master's in Spiritual formation from Talbot and I also work as a pediatric occupational therapist working with kids with special needs.

I am the family ministry pastor at Renew Church OC, and I have been in ministry for 30+ years. I am blessed by my beautiful wife and daughter and love preaching the Word of God. I also love people, pro sports, pop culture, movies and good food. My passion is to make Jesus Christ known in the local community and the world.

Young adults— besides their passion & energy, I sense God’s tremendous love and calling on their lives. My Master’s degree from Fuller Seminary and certificate in Spiritual Direction do not qualify me to be their Pastor. I think they give me the honor of calling me “Pastor Chrissie” because they sense my desire to see them grow into all that God has in store for them.

In college, a moment with Jesus changed everything. There's been bumps, twists, detours and turns, but it's all worth it if it brings me closer to Christ. I love my wife Kimberly, the Minnesota Timberwolves, board games, KBBQ, and the simple things! My wife and I attend Talbot Seminary, where I'm blessed to pursue my Master's of Divinity.

I was first invited to church in junior high and came to know the Lord in high school. It's a huge part of my own testimony and a huge reason for me pastoring youth. I'm currently in the last year of my M.Div in Evangelism and Discipleship from Talbot and also coach high school tennis. I'm a bonafide coffee snob as well.

Lucky me, my family and I have been a part of Renew from the very beginning! I’ve also served on staff with Cru since 2005 and I’ve loved how that has afforded me a front row seat to see God change lives. I’m excited to serve Renew in the way we partner with ministries and non-profits around us to seek the well being of our neighbors, communities and city together. I also love chocolate chip bagels, cold brew coffee, reading, and k-dramas.
